STUDENT WELLNESS CENTER

Our purpose is to attend to the biopsychosocial condition of the student. We provide academic counseling, offer preventive attention, and assure that the institution´s commitment to integral education is carried out on an individual level. Our staff is made up of qualified and experienced professionals in the psychology of pedagogy. At enrollment, we require that the parents of new students arrange an appointment with the psychologist. All information is private and will be maintained in the strictest confidence in the student´s personal file.
We also organize students' special educational needs, including individual (I Cycle) and group (II Cycle) tutoring and academic file requests for MEP and other institutions, when necessary. The center requests medical excuses for physical activities and sports for students who have disabilities, coordinates each student's special educational needs and keeps their files up-to-date with essential information for both parents and staff.

To make access to this information quick, easy, and organized.
To keep bibliographical information up-to-date, integrating other types of media, with both paper and electronic support.
To unite all learning services.
To organize activities for students and staff that broaden the educational experience.
To plan and create a space for cultural and academic activities.
To support all services offered by our institution, including personalized services for the needs of students and staff.
ITo implement new services and eliminate unnecessary ones.

TECNOPEDAGOGICAL PLATFORM

As an educational institution in the Information Age, we see our role as facilitator for the students to become their own guides to knowledge, with basic goals and the implications that they derive from these in mind. As a result, we created the Technopedagogical Platform to:
Integrate the Information and Communication Techniques (TIC) with the goals stated in our institution's Curricular Design.
Position the Technopedagogical Platform in our teacher's daily planning, so that the TIC is an integral part of the teaching and learning process.
Work as closely as possible with the TIC to develop, complement, and reinforce bimodal learning, through the combination of both environments (presence and distance).
Have learning be the construction of a personal representation of reality and teaching be the support system in which the student creates this representation.
Give priority to the sociocognitive abilities by promoting interdisciplinary strategies and putting global activities into practice.
Stimulate problem-solving abilities through the TIC by providing situations that are perceived as authentic by the students. By authentic, we mean relevant to their situation and to problems that that they may encounter in their own lives and social circumstances, so that they are required to think and to enjoy as they learn.
Guarantee respect for diversity and privacy. Therefore, it is essential that the teacher take the role of moderator of the network and designer of the interactive and emotional climate the should prevail.
Provide training sessions to create literacy and certification of students and staff in the use of the TIC.
Motivate regular use of computers as a didactic tool, so that students know how to use them.
